तोताराम
एक व्यक्ति को तोता पालने की बड़ी इच्छा थी, सो उसने तोता खरीदा और उसे प्यार से पालने लगा। वह उसे तोताराम के नाम से पुकारता था। तोताराम भी बड़ा होशियार था। उसके सामने कोई भी बात कहो तो उसे उसी अंदाज में दोहराता था। तोताराम को बातों का अर्थ नहीं मालूम पड़ता था लेकिन जो सुनता था उसे दोहराता रहता था। एक दिन तोताराम नल पर बैठकर उसे घुमा रहा था जिस कारण पानी टपक रहा था। पानी को व्यर्थ बहता देखकर उसके मालिक ने कहा, “तोताराम नल पर मत बैठो” । तोताराम ने वही बात दोहराई। तोताराम नल पर ही बैठकर बोल रहा था, “तोताराम नल पर मत बैठो, तोता राम …।”
आध्यात्मिक भाव: – भक्ति मार्ग में पूरी गीता को आधे घण्टे में दोहराने वाले भी हैं तो गीता पर घण्टों भाषण करने वाले भी हैं लेकिन बाबा इन सभी को तोते माफिक कहते हैं क्योंकि वे केवल कंठ किया हुआ पाठ पढ़ते हैं लेकिन उसका अर्थ तथा आध्यात्मिक रहस्य नहीं जानते। वर्तमान समय परमात्मा शिव सभी वेदों, शास्त्रों, ग्रंथों का सार सुनाते हैं एवं आध्यात्मिक रहस्य स्पष्ट करते हैं जिसे हम अपने जीवन में सहज धारण कर सकते हैं।
Story in English:
Totaram
A person was very much interested to rear a parrot. One day he purchased a parrot and started rearing it. He called it Totaram. Totaram was very clever. If anybody talked before him, he used to hear and repeat the same words sweetly, without knowing the meaning of the words. People were incredibly happy by hearing the sweet voice of Totaram. One day Totaram, by sitting on the tap was moving it and the water was coming out of the tap. The person who was rearing the parrot observed the water flowing from the tap and said, “Totaram, do not sit on the tap”. Totaram could only repeat the words but did not understand meaning of the words. As such, Totaram while sitting on the tap itself was repeating the word, “Totaram, do not sit on the tap”.
Spiritual Significance: – In Bhakthi cult, there are people who can repeat the whole Bhagavad-Gita within a short time. There are people who can continuously give speech for hours. Baba says that their talk is like a parrot talk i.e., uttering words without knowing the meaning, the spiritual significance and/or without becoming embodiment of those words in their life. At present Baba explains us the essence of Gita and other scriptures and also its spiritual significance, which everyone can easily follow in life.

తోతారామ్‌
ఒక వ్యక్తికి చిలుకలను పెంచుకోవడమంటే చాలా ఇష్టము. అందుకని ఒక చిలుకను తెచ్చి తన ఇంటిలో పెంచుకోసాగాడు. దానిని తోతారామ్‌ అని ముద్దుగా పిలుస్తూ ఉండేవాడు. తోతారామ్‌ కూడా చాలా తెలివైనది. దాని ముందు ఎవరైనా ఏదైనా మాట్లాడితే, ఒక్కసారి వినగానే ఆ మాటలను ముద్దు ముద్దుగా మళ్ళీ పలికేది. అది ఏమి మాట్లాడుతుందో వాటి అర్థము దానికి తెలియకపోయినా, విన్న మాటలను మాత్రం ముద్దుగా పలుకుతూ ఉండేది. చిలుక మాటలు వింటూ ఆ వ్యక్తి మురిసిపోతూ ఉండేవాడు. ఒకసారి తోతారామ్‌ కుళాయి మీద కూర్చొని తిరుగుతూ ఉన్నది. అది అలా తిరుగుతూ ఉండడము వలన కుళాయి నుండి నీళ్లు కారసాగాయి. నీళ్ళు వ్యర్థముగా పోవడాన్ని గమనించిన వ్యక్తి అక్కడకు వచ్చి – తోతారామ్‌, నల్‌ పర్‌ మత్‌ బైఠో (తోతారామ్‌, కుళాయి మీద కూర్చోవద్దు) అని అంటాడు. అయితే మన తోతారామ్‌కు మాటలను తిరిగి పలకడము మాత్రమే వచ్చు కానీ వాటి అర్థము తెలియదు కదా! అందుకని తోతారామ్‌, నల్‌ పర్‌ మత్‌ బైఠో అని అంటూనే కుళాయిని తిప్పుతూ ఉంటుంది.
ఆధ్యాత్మిక రహస్వము: – భక్తి మార్గములో భగవద్గీతను అరగంటలో కంఠస్థము చేయగలిగిన వారు ఉన్నారు. ఎన్ని గంటలైనా అవలీలగా ఉపన్యాసము చెప్పగలిగిన వారు ఉన్నారు. కానీ బాబా వీరి మాటలు చిలుక పలుకులతో సమానమని అంటారు. కథలో చిలుకకు ఏమీ అర్ధము కాకపోయినా విన్న మాటలను మాత్రము చక్కగా తిరిగి పలుకగలుగుతుంది. అలాగే భక్తిలో కూడా ఎన్ని మాటలు మాట్లాడినా వాటి నిజమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక భావము తెలియదు కాబట్టి వారిది చిలుక పలుకులు వంటివి అని బాబా అంటారు. ఇప్పుడు బాబా మనకు అన్ని వేద శాస్త్రముల సారమును, వాటి ఆధ్యాత్మిక రహస్యమును తెలియజేసారు.
