The Little Sparrows Who Conquered the Ocean
Once two sparrows, a husband and wife, were going on a trip. Before they left, the wife laid some eggs near the ocean. Before leaving, they requested the ocean to take of their eggs and the ocean agreed for that. A few days later the two sparrows came back, but they couldn’t find the eggs. The sparrows became very upset and asked the ocean to return their eggs. The ocean did not even consider their appeal. So the sparrows decided to dry up the ocean. They began to pick out the water with their small beak, and everyone laughed at their impossible determination. The news of their activity spread, and at last Garuda, the gigantic bird carrier of Lord Visnu, heard it. He became compassionate toward his small companions, and so he came to see the sparrows. Garuda was very pleased by the determination of the small sparrows, and he promised to help. Thus Garuda at once asked the ocean to return their eggs lest he himself will take up the work of the sparrows. The ocean was frightened at this and returned the eggs. Thus the sparrows became happy by the grace of Garuda.
Spiritual Significance:- When compared to world’s population, Baba’s children are very less and small. But still, even when everyone says that attainment of God, the Ocean of Knowledge is impossible, the little sparrows like Baba children drank the whole ocean of knowledge and became Masters of Ocean of knowledge. With Perseverance, patience and self giving effort, in the path of knowledge one can attain the perfection.
