Arbaz Khan, King of Kandhaar city did not have any son. So he made a rule that after his death, any person of the state, who wants to become emperor, should run the kingdom for one year and then he should be sent across the river, where there was dense forest full of wild animals. Whoever went there, wild animals used to eat him. This means that after ruling the kingdom for one year, the emperor was awarded the death penalty. A 20-year-old youth named Aftab also lived in the same state. Since childhood, he used to go to the mosque with his father to offer prayers. He had established a friendly relationship with God. He used to do everything, every work only after asking his friend, the God.
One day Aftab’s Abbajan (father) came to the house and told that tomorrow was the last day of their emperor. The day after, he would be made to cross the river. Now the problem is that no one is ready to become the king this year due to fear of death. Then Aftab asked his God friend, “Who will become the king of the state now?”. God friend said, “Now you will become the king”. Aftab said, “Do you want to give me death penalty after one year! If I die, who will take care of my father and mother?” Then God friend said, “You go and become the king and then do as I say”. Aftab went on to become the emperor. As the emperor, Aftab was giving exceptionally good sustenance to his subjects according to the dictates of his God friend.
After a month, God asked Aftab to get the forest in front of the river cleared. Accordingly, Aftab got a big field prepared by cutting the trees of the forest. Then God asked him to build a Raj Mahal, a fort and a city there. God’s instructions were followed. Taking money from the state treasury, he started building a city on the other side of the river. All kinds of amenities were built in it.
When one year came to an end, Aftab had to go across the river according to the rules. He made the announcement in the whole city that he would be the king in the new city that is built across the river and those who wanted to come along, would be given free houses as per their status. On the second day when Aftab crossed the river, all the people also went across the river to get happiness and peace along with him.

Spiritual significance: – From this story, Baba teaches His children that if you establish a close relationship with me and do every work according to my instructions, then I will make you perform highly elevated actions that you would get a king like life for 21 births starting from the present confluence age. Those souls who would have been served by you as per my instructions, would also remain with you in Sat Yuga and Treta Yuga in the form of your subjects.
