The Story of Indraprasth
Indra is the king of heaven and deities. The court of Indra (Inder sabha) consists of fairies who can fly about in the air at will. It was said that, once, Indra expresses the wish to see the dance of the paries (fairies). Pukhraj Pari (Yellow angel), Neelam Pari (Blue angel) and Lal Pari (Red angel) makes the entrance and after having performed the dance sits beside Indra. Raja Indra then demands the performance of Sabaz Pari (Green fairy) and he falls off to sleep. The Green Fairy (Sabz Pari), on her way to the Court of Raja Indra, was out for an airing. While flying she was attracted by the beauty of the moonlit garden beneath her, she was tempted to descend down to earth. This was against the laws of Parastan (fairyland). Moving about in the beautiful garden, she espied someone sleeping on a bed bedecked with flowers. He was Prince Gulfam (the Flower Prince), the son of Gulzar Shah (the Flower Garden king). Sabz pari falls in love with him. As the moment of her appearance at the celestial court was drawing near, the green fairy flew back to Indra sabha. The Green Fairy went back to her own palace, but she could not keep her mind off the “Flower Prince”. She called her slave, the good-natured Black Demon (Kala Dev), and confided her secret and cajoled the Black Demon to bring the Prince to Parastan. The Black Demon, with his magical powers transported the sleeping Prince, completely with his flower bedecked bed, to the palace of the Green Fairy in Parastan. When the Prince Gulfam comes to know that Sabaz Pari is one of the fairies of the court of Indra he says to Sabaz Pari that he has never seen the court of Indra and he would like to see the glamour and splendour of the court and she must arrange that for him. Calling the Black Demon, the Green Fairy explained the arrangement to him and for the first time a mortal human being managed to witness the ritual of song and dance at the celestial Court of Indra. It was the night of the full moon. Raja Indra was holding his Sabha in a celestial garden. Prince Gulfam sat hidden in a huge shamshad tree. The Raja ordered the Black Demon to produce the Green Fairy, who was the Chief Dancer at the Court. She surpassed all the other fairies both in song and in dance. While she was dancing the Red Demon was looking around every nook and corner of the celestial garden. When the dance was at its height the Red Demon came rushing into the Court. “Adam Boo! Adam Boo!” he shouted, “I smell a human being!” The dance stopped abruptly. The Green Fairy feared the worst. After a long game of hide and seek Gulfam was at last discovered and dragged before the enraged Raja Indra. The commotion was indescribable. Never before has mortal set foot in Fairyland! “Sabz Pari must be punished so that an example is set to others”, thundered Indra. He ordered the beautiful wings of the Green Fairy to be destroyed there and then. When this was done he ordered her banishment, not only from the Court, but from Fairyland. She was to be thrown down upon mortal earth. Parastan was henceforth forbidden to her. Then the Raja Indra turned towards the Prince. “As for you, wretch”, he thundered, “I order the Red Demon to throw you into a well of eternal fire. You will neither die nor live, but roast in the fire till eternity.” Spiritual Significance: – Shiv Baba is referred as Indra who is the God of gods and the one who establishes heaven. This is the Godly Indra Sabha. Only the fairies of knowledge have to sit in this. One is not made to sit in this Indra sabha without making a promise of purity, otherwise the person who brings them is also blamed and cursed and the one who comes and sits is anyway cursed. The Father knows this and yet some BK’s brings such impure people to the sabha, so Baba gives caution. As it is said in the story that in the court of Indra, a fairy brought Vikari (impure person) with him and kept him hidden and later both were thrown down. It is said in some other versions of the story that Indra turned the angel into a stone, referring to the people becoming stone intellect who brings such impure people to the sabha. Therefore, only those who are following purity should come. There is only one Father who showers rain of knowledge. So, who should be brought here has to be decided with a lot of understanding, otherwise those who bring them also get cursed.
